I can’t believe we are here again: tomorrow is the start of The Christmas Readathon!

This year, as I talked about in my last post on the readathon, I am very, very pregnant and am taking things as easy as possible. I’m putting zero pressure on myself and aiming to get just a little bit of reading done before this wee guy makes his arrival.
Here are the books I will be attempting to read before the end of the year:

Calm Christmas and a Happy New Year by Beth Kempton for the prompt to read a cosy book and for the prompt to read a book of 250 pages or fewer. This is a lovely book about making the most of the season and reducing stress.
For the prompt to read a book with friends and family at the centre of the story I will be reading Make Her Wish Come True by A.L. Brooks. I have this as an audiobook and am already halfway through so I feel like this is an easy win for me.

A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens for the prompt to read a book with magic or surprises and the prompt to read a book with a festive cover. I read this every Christmas and am hoping I can find a nice audiobook version for this year.
I will be reading Papyrus by Irene Vallejo for the prompt to read a book out of my comfort zone. I have had this book on the go for almost a full year and have been really enjoying it. I would love to finish it before we reach 2025!

There is also the Jolabokaflod prompt, for which we encourage you to buy someone a book and spend some of Christmas Eve reading. I’m not sure what book I will end up with this year but I will be posting updates on my Instagram when I can.
We would love for you to join in the challenge over on Storygraph or to share your TBR stacks on Instagram. You can tag us @readwhileitrains and @cerilouisereads so we can share them.
